MY
TRIBUTE TO ALL AMERICANS
IN THE ARMED FORCES
![]()
Let me start by saying that I am an American concerned about the plight of our soldiers in the armed forces, be they men or women. This site is for all sexes and all forces of the Military. I have for some time been active with Operation Just Cause and their struggle to bring back our Americans Patriots who have been named "Prisoners of War" and/or "Missing in Action". Have adopted three of them last year. It is with much pride and happiness to be able to say that the remains one of my adopted Hero, Capt. John Norlee Flanigan, Marine Corps of Winter Haven, Florida, have been identified and returned home. Now after 28 years, he is back home on American soil where he belongs. If you want to read his story Click Here. My youngest son is in the military at this time. So I can truly relate to the sinking feeling at the pit of the stomach when faced with the threat of war. My first thought was, "I must light and put up a Candle for his safe return". Which I did and placed it on my Home Page. My second thought was, "Others may want to light a candle for their loved ones also. And maybe some of them don't have the necessary tools to create this candle". My third thought was, "Get busy lady, and create a candle to place on the web for these brave souls, that others may pick-up and place on their home pages as a tribute to our Hero's in Uniform". So here I am, and here it is !!!"
If you would like to display this Candle of Light on your website, just copy it to your server and add it to you web page. No link back to this site is required............ My original thought about keeping the candle burning until the safe return of all Americans in the Persian Gulf remains steadfast. Even if the immediate dangers appear to have diminished greatly, the candle will stay here as long as Americans stay over there defending their homeland and loved ones. Now the apparent danger in the Persian Gulf belongs to the past. The men and women in uniform, however, continue to serve this country at home and overseas. This candle will continue to burn in honor of all of them. It is my deepest desire that they all remain safe. |
Pow-Mia's qualify as not
