| Mars is best known as the planet of Action. It is
also desire and dynamic energy. The combination of these
qualities shows the urge and energy to accomplish, build
and progress. Planet Mars never leaves us with a lack of energy to get things done. As a matter of fact, one way to realize our desires is to work and earn. This allows is to develop the ability to hold our own against economic competition, gain self-confidence and learn self-discipline. Mars, like the mythological figure it was named after, is also the planet of War. Through war we can experience hatred/heroism, killing/self-sacrifice, and we can find courage and endurance we did not know we had. The energy of the planet Mars comes to the foreground ready for action. There is also an inner war that is ruled by Mars. The struggle within ourselves for self-mastery. We can gain valuable experience from the desire and action of Mars. This can be an experience that will ultimately teach us to use our energies to its highest good and transmute desire to Will and healing power. The power in and of itself is neither good or bad. It is the misuse of this energy that makes one person a saint and another person a devil. The ultimate decision is always ours.
