The planet Jupiter is known as the "Great Benefic." It is the largest planet in our solar system and it does things on a large scale. He is expansive, popular, optimistic, successful , generous and especially the Promoter.

It is easy to see that when this planet is positive, all good things come in an easy and abundant manner. However, by the same token, when it is afflicted, all negative qualities also show itself in great abundance. For example: overconfidence, exaggeration, extravagance, conceit, fondness of display and goes to excess in many things.

Jupiter is active and conservative in both religious and philosophical activities, favoring the more orthodox and established religions. This is mostly due to ritual and ceremony associated with the religion and the fact that Jupiter favors all types of such ceremonies.

Jupiter is the planet ruling the Higher Mind. He lifts man's eyes up; takes man out of himself and stimulates aspiration, idealism, tolerance, understanding and vision.
